New Books from Chelsea Green Publishing - Organic Growing and Cooking, Building Green, etc.

We have replenished our expanding book collection - we now carry almost 150 titles on renewable energy, green building/remodeling, organic growing/cooking, sustainability, kids books on the environment, and books for teachers.

For cookbooks, we have added "From Asparagus to Zucchini: A Guide to Cooking Farm-Fresh Produce" and "Vegan Rustic Cooking", as well as Helen and Scott Nearing's "The Maple Sugar Book". For those doing the growing, we now carry "Growing Great Garlic", "Herbs for Home Treatment" and 'The Winter Harvest Handbook".

Those considering a new house might find either the "Natural House" or the "New Ecological House" will help them live in a greener structure... which might be a "Straw Bale House" (several have been built in our region). If you are interested in Permaculture, we have added "Permaculture Plants" to our growing collection of titles on Permaculture.

The list of Chelsea Green Guide titles has grown to include "The Green Guide to Nontoxic Household Cleaners" and "The Green Guide to Sustainable Food". THose wanting guidance on living more a sustainable lifestyle will find "The Green Living Handbook" full of information, ideas, and motivation. Speaking of motivation, "Time's Up!: An Uncivilized Solution to a Global Crisis" tackles why our motivation to deal with the myriad enviornmental challenges threatening our survival is often lacking, and suggests ways to tackle the cultural conditioning that favors the status quo of inactivity.

Finally, for teachers, we have added "Going to Green: A Standards-Based Environmental Education Curriculum" to our stable of books for teachers of all levels on how to teach green to children.

We have a number of other new products which will be summarized soon.
