Summer days - ways to save energy in summer

We've had a very sunny summer this year (at least compared to last one). Our solar customers are all quite happy with the higher than expected power output from their solar electric and solar hot water systems. But there are many other (and less costly ways) to save on energy costs and pollution this summer.

One example is our SunLawn push mowers - get some exercise, smell the fresh grass (not the gasoline and oil fumes) and enjoy the quiet. Blades stay sharpened for YEARS!

Or, get a composting toilet - reduce your environmental impact and your water usage at the same time, and produce real good compost for your lawn and flower garden. Composting toilets are so good at reducing your impact on the environment, they ought to give them preferred tax status or something.

Another way to reduce your environmental impact is to use natural household products that are not petroleum based. Seventh Generation cleaning supplies are made from plant-based materials.

And don't forget the simple things that can add up. For example wooden bag dryers let you use plastic bags over and over. Plastic bags are made from oil and its a shame we throw them out after one use. Now you don't have to.

These are just some of the many energy saving and environmentally friendly items available at Sustain Ability.
